New Delhi: Samsung has launched its ‘selfie focused' Galaxy Grand Prime smartphone in India at Rs 15,499.
It is a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) handset that offers a 5-inch qHD (540x960 pixels) PLS TFT display. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core (unknown chipset) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
The Grand Prime comes with 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support (up to 64GB).
Connectivity option includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS and 3G. The smartphone will feature a 2600mAh battery. It measures 144.8x72.1x8.6mm and weighs 156 grams.
Samsung is touting the device for its 85 degree wide angle lens on the 5-megapixel front facing camera, while there is an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera also onboard.
"Introducing the new trend of 'Groupfie', Galaxy Grand Prime features an advanced wide angle front camera best-suited to capture group images," said Asim Warsi, vice president, marketing, Mobile & IT, Samsung India.
