Tata gives a twist to Nano by launching 'Nano Twist' with power steering

New Delhi: Tata Motors have launched the much-awaited power steering variant of the Nano – called Nano Twist in India. The Tata Nano Twist is available in a single variant, XT, and is priced at Rs 2.3 lakh, ex-Delhi.The new model costs approximately Rs 14,000 above the top-end non power-steering version of the Tata Nano. The power steering version comes fitted with a ZF-developed electric power steering unit (EPS) that uses a brushless motor. The steering system comes with a feature called Active Return, which returns the steering wheel to its original position once a turn has been executed. The automaker claims the features improves the stability of the vehicle. Tata have retained the 4m turning radius from the non-assisted variant.While there are no changes on the outside except for the ‘Twist' badge on the fixed tailgate and a new ‘Damson Purple' body color, the interiors get a refresh. The Tata Nano Twist XT gets a revised instrument cluster with driver information system, digital clock and average fuel economy indicator. There is also a distance to empty feature as well. In addition, it has tip tap outside rear view mirrors, front fog lamps, cabin light with dimming effect and twin glove box compartment for added storage and convenience. Still, there is not too much improvement in the luggage space. Boot space is quite literally hidden away and is accessed by lowering rear seats. The Nano Twist is still powered by a 624cc 2-cylinder petrol motors which makes 38PS and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors claims 25kmpl fuel efficiency for the Nano petrol.2014 Tata Nano Twist XT is available in 6 colours. They are Pearl White, Meteor Silver, Royal Gold, Damzon Purple, Dazzle Blue, and Papaya Orange.
