New Delhi: Korean carmaker Hyundai has revealed the first design sketches of the next generation 2015 Hyundai i20, which it is calling the "Elite i20" (similar to the Fluidic Verna, Neo-Fluidic Elantra etc.).
The second generation of i20 adopts the new 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy "in a sophisticated and distinctive design". It has been designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany. The company says that the car adopts the new 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy "in a sophisticated and distinctive design".
The new car is characterized by a long hood, sculpted body sides and a dark treatment for the C-Pillar. The generous shape creates a powerful stance for the all-new i20.
The front of the car features a new hexagonal grille and a thin horizontal strip which connects the headlamps. Towards the rear, the i20 gets an almost wrap-around rear window and taillights which integrate into the bootlid.
On the inside users get a new 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls for the music system, a new white-on-black instrument cluster with a multi-information display, an integrated music system capable of playing Bluetooth, AUX-in, USB, CD, MP3 and Radio and automatic climate control.
Hyundai has not revealed the technical specifications of the car, though existing powertrains which include 1.2- and 1.4-litre engines are expected to continue doing duty albeit with minor modifications.
