New Delhi: MoFirst Solutions, a startup technology company founded by three IIT graduates, has launched a feature-rich budget smartphone, called the Firstouch A10 in India, for Rs 6000.

Claimed to be the world's first regional smartphone, the handset supports one Indian regional language, Gujarati. The company's patented Swipe technology enables users to translate English messages to Gujarati and vice-versa, just by a flick of a finger.

The company promises to launch the device with support for Hindi and Marathi by June this year, and later to almost all other Indian vernaculars in one year.

The three key features of its Firstouch A10 are the Swype technology, the Matra Keyboard and some of the Gujarati apps that come pre-loaded on the smartphone. With the Matra Keyboard, users will be able to type Gujarati words and take advantage of predictive typing technology at the same time.

Firstouch A10 comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA (800x480p) capacitive display and runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly OS. The device is powered a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, and backed by 512MB RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a micro-SD card. The device is fueled by a 1300 mAh battery.

Other stipulated specifications include a 2.0-megapixel (with flash) primary camera, a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front camera. The budget phone also supports 3G network, dual SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS for navigation.

It smartphone will be initially launched in Rajkot, with other regions to follow soon next month.
