And it is not just India-made crackers, the craze for Chinese crackers and goods have also been a surge in demand. A quick survey by ASSOCHAM-Social Development Foundation (ASDF) said Indians are making a beeline for Chinese products, leading to demand for Chinese Diwali items such as fancy lights, lampshades, Ganesha and Lakshmi idols, rangolis, crackers and others going up by over 45 per cent in comparison to last year.
According to the Assocham India Social Development Foundation (ASDF) survey, the Chinese products have caught the imagination of middle class shoppers and that the 'poor can afford to buy them'.
While Bollywood crackers may not be the sole reason for enthusiasts to buy crackers, an interesting packaging does attract attention.
