New Delhi: In the modern day economy it is not surprise that every job comes with its own level of stress. While some jobs put people in extreme danger or in constant physical activity, there are some that are easy on mind and body.

Online career site CareerCast.com compiled a list of the least stressful jobs of 2013, comparing 11 factors like travel, public visibility, competitiveness, growth potential, deadlines and physical demands, hazards, environmental conditions and risk to one's own life or to others', to find out which professions are hazardous and which are not. According to the survey a very low score meant that the job is more relaxing.

Tony Lee, CareerCast's publisher, said, the most common thing found is these less stressful jobs is autonomy. “These jobs tend not to have someone standing over their shoulder putting pressure on them to get things done,” he says. For instance, university professors are answerable to only themselves. “In these jobs you're the expert to get things done. The people who do them tend to work on their own, without much supervision,” he adds. These include for jewelers, audiologists, dieticians and hair stylists.

CareerCast also points out that these least stressful jobs also have another thing in common: people in these professions can leave their work behind, and their hours tend to be the traditional nine to five.

10. Drill press operator

Despite working with heavy machinery in industrial environments, the BLS reports that the work has little danger, and drill press operators typically have the ability to work at their own pace. However, working with heavy machinery that can cause injury or death without proper worker precautions isn't carefree.
