New Delhi: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will launch its flagship smartphone Mi 5 in India on March 31.

Confirming the news, company’s President Bin Lin said that the smartphone phone will carry a price tag of between Rs 20,000 and 27,000

Earlier this month Xiaomi had launched its Redmi Note 3 smartphone and now the company has started sending invites for the launch programme.

The invite by Xiaomi comes with the tag ‘All you ever imagined, and more’ with a large ‘5’ that denotes about the Mi5.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 was launched in China a month ago, and the company had promised that India will get the launch date soon. Mi 5 was launched in three variants - 32GB and 64GB variants with a 3D glass back, and a 128GB variant with a 3D Ceramic body.

The Mi 5 features a 5.15-inch 1080p display and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with the latest MIUI 7 OS. The 32GB variant comes with a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, and the 64GB variant features a 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone has a 16-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording capabilities, four-axis OIS technology, PDAF, and dual-tone LED flash, and a 4-megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button.

In terms of connectivity the device offers dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port and NFC.
