Sensex falls for seventh consecutive day, loses 262 points; Nifty ends below 8000

The dismal run of the market continued for the seventh consecutive session today with Sensex losing 262.78 points to close at 25,979.60 points on Thursday.

The dismal run of the market continued for the seventh consecutive session today with Sensex losing 262.78 points to close at 25,979.60 points on Thursday. 

The Sensex was down 65.60 points or 0.25 per cent at Wednesday's closing.  

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 51-scrip Nifty, closed at 7,979.10 points after shedding 82.20 points.  

Both the indices lost one per cent of value.  

On Thursday, Asian indices were trading in a muted note taking a cue from a subdued trade on Wall Street as investors booked profit ahead of the upcoming holidays.

Nasdaq on Wednesday closed in red, down by 0.23 per cent and FTSE 100 also fell by 0.04 per cent at the closing.
