In a recent media interaction, Indian Bronze medal winner Sakshi Malik had said that she chose to become a wrestler to be able to travel in plane.

The 23 year old Malik ended India's dry run at Rio Games after she won a bronze medal  and boosted the spirit of Indian spectators around the globe.

The wrestler's wish to fly has been met with a heart-warming gesture by  Air India, which is offering her two 'to and fro' business class tickets.

In a letter addressed to the wrestler, Air India said that her victory made them proud and happy.

"Air India is indeed proud to offer you two(for you and your companion) return business class between any two destinations of the entire Air India network valid for a period of one year." the Chairman and Managing Director of Air India Lohani Ashwani Lohani said in th letter.

Air India's letter to Sakshi Malik

She will be the recipient of Rs. 2.5 crore prize money from Haryana government, Rs 60 lakhs by Indian Railways and the Rs 20 lakhs from Indian Olympic Association, among others.

Sakshi clinched a bronze medal in Women’s Freestyle 58 kg category with a victory over Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan. Trying hard against her Kyrgyzstan opponent, Malik gave a hit to hand India its fourth bronze in wrestling the history of Olympic. The news of her triumph brought her love and wishes from across the nation.
