As India readies itself for the implementation of the ambitious Goods and Services Tax regime, Future Group’s Big Bazaar has some big plans of its own to usher in the big-bang reform. As part of a two-day shopping bonanza, Big Bazaar plans to pass on the entire benefit of the GST rates to consumers. The hypermarket retail chain’s special shopping extravaganza will take place between 12:00 am and 2:00 am on June 30 and July 1. The midnight shopping offer today will coincide with the launch of the GST at the Central Hall of Parliament.
As part of its two-day ‘GST Muhurat Shopping’, Big Bazaar will pass on the entire benefit of GST to its customers. The event will also make it among the first to pass on the benefits of the new GST rates to consumers immediately. There are some big offers in store for consumers, with price drops ranging from 2 per cent to as much as 22 per cent across products and categories.

Several food and home products will have discounts ranging from 5 per cent to 22 per cent, the company said. Additionally, the company has also lined up extra bonus and cashbacks offers for customers, under its GST Muhurat shopping. Shoppers will receive Rs 300 in their Future Pay wallet, each time they spend Rs 1000 or more.

Customers looking for some good bargain can avail of the benefits offered under the midnight GST Muhurat Shopping across all Big Bazaar stores. The two-day bonanza comes as a bonus for consumers with several online and offline retail stores offering discounts for the past two weeks to get rid of their inventory before the new tax regime kicks in. From offline stores in your neighbourhood, to online stores like Flipkart and Amazon, customers are spoilt for choice as the GST rings in.
