Rabri Devi elected as Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Council

Rabri Devi was elected as the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council.

Former Bihar chief minister and RJD leader Rabri Devi was elected as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the State Legislative Council. Her son and former deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav is the LoP in the Bihar Legislative Assembly.

 

Earlier, the position was held by BJP leader Hari Sahni who had replaced Samrat Choudhary in August 2023. Rabri Devi had become the chief minister for the first time in 1997 after Lalu Yadav was named in the fodder scam. She remained the CM from 1999 to 2000 and from 2000 to 2005. She was the first woman CM of Bihar. 

Rabri Devi had was Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council in October 2022.
