Indian auto market is going through its worst crisis in decades. The sales numbers are down and companies are finding it difficult to keep their manufacturing units running amidst low demand in the market.
India's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki is offering major discounts to its customers. Maruti Suzuki is offering discounts upto Rs 1,12,000 on its highest selling cars.
The company said it is optimistic that the price reduction will bring down the cost of acquisition, especially for the entry-level customers. "This announcement around the festive season will help boost customer sentiment and revive the market to create demand," MSI said.
A few days ago, Maruti Suzuki had slashed its car prices after the government reduced corporate tax to bring India's economy back on track.
Maruti Suzuki's most sold car Swift is available in the market with discounts upto Rs 77,000 which entry segment sedan Dzire comes with a discount of upto Rs 84,100.
Maruti Suzuki's C-segment sedan Ciaz has a discount of upto Rs 87,700 while compact SUV Brezza comes with a discount of Rs 42,600.
Small hatchbacks Ignis and Alto are available with discounts of Rs 57,000 and Rs 65,000 respectively.
