7 players who were part of India's T20 World Cup 2022 squad but will not be picked in 2024

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the two senior pros will return for India for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the Caribbean and the USA. However, there will be quite a few changes in India's squad from the one that played in Australia in 2022-

Dinesh Karthik was picked in India's squad for T20 World Cup 2022 on the back of sensational IPL 2022 but underperformed with the bat in the tournament and was later replaced by Rishabh Pant in the XI. Karthik is in good form in IPL 2024 as well but is not in the scheme of things for the national team

R Ashwin played the T20 World Cup 2022 and even the ODI World Cup 2023 but hasn't been a regular in India's white-ball set up and will not be considered for this T20 World Cup

Bhuvneshwar Kumar too hasn't played for India in T20Is since 2022 and has had a middling IPL so far and is highly unlikely to be considered for the World Cup squad

Mohammed Shami wasn't in India's T20 scheme of things but played the T20 World Cup in 2022 as Jasprit Bumrah's replacement. With the form he showed in IPL last year and World Cup 2023, Shami was in with a chance to get picked for T20 World Cup 2024, however, his heel injury and subsequent surgery have ruled him out

Harshal Patel last played for India in January last year and the team management hasn't looked at him since then as part of T20 setup

Deepak Hooda despite being one of the very few batters who bowl, hasn't been considered by India since February last year and will not be part of the T20 World Cup 2024

Yuzvendra Chahal has been part of India's two T20 World Cup squad but is yet to play a game and the wait could last the lifetime of the leg-spinner as he hasn't been in the scheme of things for the Men in Blue in the last couple of years
