Known to play intense and icy authority figures, Lance Reddick breathed his last today, March 18.

The multi-talented American actor left behind quite a legacy.

Lance is originally from Baltimore, Maryland where he studied music as a teenager.

He went on to graduate from Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, New York, earning a degree in classical music composition.

Lance Reddick made his debut in 1996 and went on to act in several movies and television shows over the years.

At the time of his passing, according to the site CelebrityNetWorth, the late actor was worth $4 million.

Lance is known to have played a man in a uniform or a suit. He is best remembered for his performance as Cedric Daniels on HBO's The Wire.

Apart from his role in John Wick, he is also well-known as Agent Philip Broyles on JJ Abrams' Fringe series, and has starred in Lost, as well as the 2013 thriller White House Down.

In a posthumous release, he will be starring in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, playing the role of Zeus. He also has the role of Charon in the John Wick spin-off, Ballarina in his kitty.

Lance Reddick is survived by his wife Stephanie Day, whom he has been married to for 12 years now. Both of them share two children together, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
