The altar or the puja room should be in the east, north or north-east direction of the house.

The idol or picture of the Goddess should face the west or the east direction.

The puja room should be kept clean and clutter-free. It should not be used for any other purpose.

Use bright and vibrant colors for decorating the puja room like red, yellow, and orange.

The puja room should have good ventilation and natural light.

Offerings like flowers, fruits, and sweets should be placed in the north-east direction of the puja room.

Avoid using artificial lights or candles.

Finally, it is important to have faith and devotion while performing puja during Navratri.
