In a first, Nagpur doctors attempt to fit prosthetic limb on tiger's amputated paw

In an attempt to improve a tiger's amputated paw, a team of doctors performed a surgery to fit a prosthetic limb on the tiger. Though the attempt was unsuccessful, the doctors claim that it was a novel attempt in such cases. The tiger's left paw was amputated after it got entangled in a steel trap set by poachers in 2012. Dr Sushrut Babhulkar who is an orthopedic surgeon said, "Unfortunately in stage 3, where we wanted to fit him with prosthesis, he decided to refuse it. He didn't accept it. Hopefully in future, we will try to fit him back with the prosthesis which he will not be able to easily remove
