Cyclone Nivar is expected to intensify into a "very severe cyclonic storm" and make landfall Wednesday. Severe cyclonic storm Nivar will cross the Bay of Bengal coast between Chennai and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram, triggering heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in some parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
