Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Agra allegedly strangled a nine-year-old girl after she caught him stealing money from their landlord's house. According to police, the man after killing the minor wrapped her body in a quilt and hid it inside a cupboard.
Minor girl went missing
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), City, Vikas Kumar on Tuesday informed that the minor girl went missing from an area under Jagdishpura police station on Monday. After this, the family of the girl informed the police that the girl went to the market and did not return home.
Accused confessed his crime
Police thereafter started looking for the minor and at the instance of the locals and the family, they interrogated their neighbour Sunny. He later confessed to the crime. Sunny and the family of the girl lived in the same building as tenants.
As per the police official, the girl had witnessed Sunny, the accused stealing money from their landlord’s house. "In order to save himself, the accused strangled the minor, wrapped her body in a quilt and stored it inside a cupboard in his house," the officer said.
After an investigation, police recovered Rs 20,000 from Sunny's possession. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
