A fire broke out at Paras Tierea Society in Noida Sector 137 after an air conditioner installed in a seventh-floor flat reportedly suffered a short circuit, triggering panic among residents. However, the blaze was brought under control by the society's maintenance team before the fire department reached the spot. Officials said no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, and timely action prevented the fire from spreading to nearby apartments.
According to initial information, the fire originated from an air conditioner on the seventh floor of the residential tower. Members of the society's maintenance staff immediately responded after smoke and flames were noticed and managed to douse the fire before it could escalate. Their prompt intervention helped minimise damage and ensured the safety of residents living in the building.
Fire department inspects the site
After receiving information about the incident, officials from the fire department reached the society and carried out an inspection of the affected area. The team assessed the spot to ensure there was no risk of the fire reigniting and examined the circumstances that led to the incident.
Fire safety in residential societies
Electrical faults remain one of the leading causes of fires in residential buildings, particularly during peak summer months when air conditioners are used extensively, as per officials. Experts advise regular servicing of electrical appliances, checking wiring and avoiding overloaded circuits to reduce the risk of such incidents.
Fire at Noida's Mamura village
Earlier on July 15, at least two people died and several others were injured as a massive fire broke out in Noida's Mamura village on Wednesday. The fire was reportedly caused by a spark in an electric bike. Police sources said the rescue operations were launched as 50 families were affected by the blaze. Regarding the fire incident at a building in Noida's Sector 66, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident in Noida and issued instructions to the officials.
The fire had originated from a spark caused by an electric vehicle battery that was being charged, subsequently igniting nearby petrol-powered vehicles. Upon receiving the information, seven fire tenders and a hydraulic platform from the fire service unit, along with the Chief Fire Officer and local police, arrived at the scene and initiated rescue operations.
