SpiceJet's Rs 50 crore bank guarantee will soon be released by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), following the airline clearing all its principal dues.
SpiceJet on Tuesday said it has entered into an agreement with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and cleared all outstanding principal dues of the airport operator.
SpiceJet Aircraft Malfunction: A senior official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) called the incident as "routine", adding that the regulator has started a probe into it.
SpiceJet's planes were involved in at least eight incidents of technical malfunction between June 19 and July 5, following which the DGCA on July 6 issued a show cause notice to the airline.
The petitioner contended that there have been regular breaches in service and there are even cases registered against the SpiceJet promoter.

SpiceJet news: Gurugram police on Monday said an FIR has been filed against Singh, who is Chairman and Managing Director of SpiceJet, based on a complaint by one Amit Arora for allegedly duping him on the pretext of allotting shares of the company.

In a tweet, Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said: "Passenger safety is paramount. Even the smallest error hindering safety will be thoroughly investigated & course-corrected."
SpiceJet spokesperson said that On 5th July, 2022, SpiceJet Q400 aircraft was operating SG 3324 (Kandla - Mumbai). During cruise at FL230, P2 side windshield outer pane cracked.

SpiceJet Boeing 737, which had taken off from Patna to Delhi on Sunday, returned after some passengers reported of engine fire. The flight was carrying 185 passengers, all of whom were reported safe upon landing.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation informed that an alternate SpiceJet flight was arranged. Over 180 passengers were on-board and none of them got injured. It was later revealed that the spark was caused due to a bird hit.
Over 180 passengers were on board and there has been no report of any injury.
The DGCA grounded Boeing 737 Max planes in India on March 13, 2019, three days after an Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max aircraft crashed near Addis Ababa, killing 157 people including four Indians.
The air traffic controller was apprised and the aircraft landed safely at the Mumbai airport.
The airline's IT team has contained and rectified the situation and flights are operating normally now, the spokesperson added.
In the "cash and carry" model, the airline has to make daily payments to the AAI for various charges -- navigation, landing, parking, and others -- to operate flights.
