On its dismal performance in Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, Shiv Sena chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut said his party received less votes than NOTA (none of the above) because it fell “short of the notes” the BJP used. The Uddhav Thackeray-led party failed to open its account in states where it fielded its candidates.
As per data of the Election Commission of India, the BJP has so far won five seats and is leading in 15 others in the coastal state, where counting of votes is currently underway.

The Shiv Sena MP had in the past alleged that the Central agencies were being misused against political opponents of BJP.
"Aaditya Thackeray had been to UP. I think there is going to be a change in UP. People have made up their minds. In the atmosphere we saw, there is a neck-to-neck fight. The support for Akhilesh Yadav shows the change," said Raut.
KCR had met Uddhav Thackeray and NCP president Sharad Pawar in a bid to bring together like-minded parties against the BJP at the national level.
Raut had also levelled allegations against BJP leader Kirit Somaiya and accused him of being involved in an alleged scam related to a slum rehabilitation project at Powai in suburban Mumbai.
Raut claimed he was contacted by some BJP leaders to shift allegiance and warned he would have to pay a price for not doing so.

Sanjay Raut's remark comes amid a war of words between the Shiv Sena and BJP after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that his party "wasted 25 years as part of an alliance with BJP".
Sanjay Raut said that Shiv Sena had presented a proposal to the Congress to form a pre-poll alliance along with the NCP and the Goa Forward Party (GFP) but the grand old party did not respond to the plan.

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal said his party will welcome Utpal Parrikar if he is willing to join it.
Earlier on Tuesday, NCP chief Sharad Pawar had said that he is in talks with Congress and Trinamool Congress for a possible alliance to contest the Goa assembly polls.
