The SAI has formulated a detailed draft of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be followed before reopening of its training centres by the end of this month, as suggested by Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju but subject to clearance from the Health and Home ministry.
Training and competitions have been frozen since March due to the coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide lockdown.
Hockey India president Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad said, "These sessions will them gain high-level knowledge from our foreign coaches, scientific advisors and director, High Performance."
The 13-day course will see the participants attend sessions on an array of topics, ranging from prevention of injury, to video analysis, to principles of coaching age-group teams, and much more.
The two-day session will be conducted by Dr Poornima Raman Ngomdir (PT), who is a sports physiotherapist and head of sports sciences with Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ).

All ministers were on Saturday asked to resume office from Monday along with joint secretary-level officers and one-third of their essential staff.
Rijiju held a meeting with regional directors of all SAI centres across the country through a video conference call and took a stock of the situation. He also deliberated upon measures needed to be taken once the lockdown is lifted.
The decision to allow all SAI regional centres, stadiums and hostels to be used as quarantine facilities was taken following a request from the Health Ministry.

With four new coronavirus cases being reported, the SAI south centre chose to close the facility on Tuesday.

These centres will be closely monitored by Hockey India and its High Performance Director and the programme will also that the athletes are provided with international exposure.
