Interesting things to know about the Gangasagar pilgrimage
Under the 'Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana', any resident of Delhi above the age of 60 will be eligible to undertake pilgrimage, accompanied by an attendant above the age of 18, whose expenditure will also be borne by the government.
Those rescued have been moved to Nepalgunj and Surkhet, the two towns close to the Indian border and having better health care and infrastructure facilities.
The first batch had reached Gunji Base camp by trekking 33 km from Mangti, in two days.
