PDP Chief and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti recently slammed BJP. She said that while earlier Jinnah divided India, BJP also wants to follow in his footsteps.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has termed Karnataka High Court's decision on hijab as disappointing. "Women were being denied their rights. Mehbooba said that it is not a matter of religion, it is a matter of freedom," she said.

Mehbooba Mufti in her recent address, used the Taliban issue to take a swipe at the Modi government. In her speech she said that their patience shouldn't be tested.

Our expectations are that it should be a good beginning to resolve the issues, concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Whatever has been done to us is not within the limits of the Constitution, says CPI-M leader Yousuf Tarigami ahead of all-party meeting with PM Modi. "Our rights guaranteed under the provisions of the Constitution of India have been snatched from us. We will demand the government and PM to reconsider and restore those rights which have been guaranteed by the Constituent Assembly of India," Tarigami added.

This will be the first meeting between PM Modi and the leaders of J&K since the Centre scrapped Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and bifurcated it into two Union Territories in August 2019.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair an all-party meeting with the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir today. A total of 14 leaders, including National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, People's Conference leader Sajad Lone and Muzaffar Hussain Baig and Apni Party leader Altaf Bukhari, will attend the meet at the Prime Minister’s residence in Delhi. BJP J&K unit leaders Kavinder Gupta, Nirmal Singh, and Ravinder Singh, and Bhim Singh from J&K Panthers will also attend today's meet.

PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should hold talks with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue.

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with all political parties from Jammu and Kashmir on June 24, sources have said PDP chief and former CM Mehbooba Mufti is mulling skipping the talks. Mehbooba Mufti had earlier confirmed that she had received a call from the Centre for taking part in the meeting in Delhi on June 24. Fourteen leaders of 8 political parties have been invited to the meeting that will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the future course for the union territory.

Mehbooba Mufti was questioned by Enforcement Directorate in money laundering case on March 25 in Srinagar. After being questioned, she said that "dissent has been criminalized in this country."
