    A doctor opened a 'One Rupee Clinic' in Odisha's Sambalpur district. Dr Shankar Ramchandani opened the clinic in Burla to treat the poor people. Shankar said that the 'One Rupee Fee Clinic' is part of his long standing desire to provide free treatment to the poor and underprivileged beyond duty hour. The timings of the clinic are between 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Speaking to media, Dr Shankar Ramchandani said, "I saw how people struggled to get medical aid amid COVID-19 crisis and I wanted to help beyond my duty hour. I charge ?1 so they don't feel they are availing free service." Shankar Ramchandani is an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla. He has opened the clinic in Burla town where patients have to pay just ?1 for their treatment.
