The uproar over farm laws and the alleged snooping using Pegasus spyware continued in Parliament on wednesday, with Rajya Sabha being adjourned till 12 pm.
Both the Houses of Parliament witnessed stormy scenes after the Opposition raised slogans and placards on the Pegasus snooping row and farmers’ issue on July 27, two days after the proceedings were disrupted on July 23. Both the Houses were repeatedly adjourned. Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day as protests by Opposition members continued.
In the Rajya Sabha, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was forced to cut short his statement on the row by the uproar among opposition members. As soon as Mr Vaishnaw rose to speak on Pegasus, Trinamool MP Shantanu Sen snatched his papers, tore, and flung them at Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh. This forced the minister to lay the paper on the table instead.
Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned twice during the pre-lunch period on Tuesday after uproar by opposition members over various issues including the Pegasus snooping issue.
