A slow left-arm wrist-spinner Sandakan has come up through the Sri Lankan domestic ranks in today's day and age when wrist-spin is in high demand all around the world. But given the strong competition in the spin bowling department in the Lankan squad at the moment, Sandakan has found it hard to keep his place in the playing XI for most games. If he does go to England for the World Cup he is sure to get at least a couple of games to prove he belongs at the highest level.
