Vineet Jindal and Shashank Shekhar Jha have requested the top law officer to grant consent for initiating contempt proceedings against Sibal, a former law minister.
Kapil Sibal on Supreme court: "If you think you will get relief from Supreme Court, you are hugely mistaken. And I am saying this after completing 50 years of practicing in the Supreme Court," Kapil Sibal said.
In an interview with PTI, Sibal also said that in recent years, free speech, and how it has been interpreted by the Supreme Court, unfortunately, is not allowed the space that is constitutionally permissible to it.

"I feel helpless when we cannot start meaningful conversations within party forums. I also feel hurt and helpless when I see pictures of Congress workers raising slogans outside the residence of a colleague and MP. The safe harbour to which one can withdraw seems to be silence," Congress leader P Chidambaram wrote on Twitter.
Anand Sharma has expressed disgust over party workers' protest outside Kapil Sibal's house after he raised questions over the functioning of the Congress.
