Huge amounts of cash and other costly items have been recovered in the series of raids led by the Income Tax officials in Karnataka. Two rounds of raids made headlines after the seizure of Rs 94 crore and Rs 50 crore. The recovery of unaccounted cash triggered a slugfest between BJP and Congress.
According to sources in the BJP, the contractor whose house was raided was the most prominent face of the allegations of 40 per cent commission against the previous BJP government.

Amid these Income Tax raids, Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap have found support in actress Swara Bhasker and filmmaker Anubhav Sinha.
The Income Tax Department has conducted a search and seizure operation in Tamil Nadu and detected an undisclosed income of Rs 700 crore, according to an official statement.
More than 300 Income Tax officials are carrying the raids, sources said.
An Income Tax official said that there is proof of tax evasion worth Rs 120 crore by Gahlot, who holds several top portfolios in Kejriwal cabinet.
The searches were launched on the premises of Ms SPK and Company, a partnership firm engaged in road and highway construction, on contract from the government.
