Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday said the country has been taken over by 'Sarkari Taliban' who are giving orders to "break the head" of farmers. Tikait's remark came a day after police action against farmers in Karnal, and a video of SDM coaching his cops.

The Haryana Police lathicharged a group of farmers disrupting traffic movement on a highway while heading towards Karnal to protest against a BJP meeting on Saturday. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, state BJP president Om Prakash Dhankar and other senior leaders of the party were present at the meeting.
Rakesh Tikait, leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union on August 28 visited Shimla in Himachal Pradesh to talk to the apple farmers. He spoke to ANI and said that he will go all over the country and talk about this government's performance, "PM said that income will double by 2022, instead they are selling stadiums, railway stations, LIC. PM has put whole nation for sale" said the farmer leader.
The Haryana Police batoncharged on farmers in Karnal who were protesting against a meeting on the upcoming municipal polls chaired by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Saturday afternoon. Soon, tension gripped the region, especially near Bastara toll plaza, where the clash took place.
The state police drew severe criticism for the action against the farmers, and several roads were blockaded at different places in protest.
The chief minister said some other states had also moved Assembly resolutions against farm laws earlier though the previous AIADMK government did not do so.
