Thousands of protesting farmers clashed with police in several areas of Delhi and stormed the historic Red Fort after breaking through barricades at different border points of the national capital on Tuesday. The farmers deviated from pre-decided routes, prompting security personnel to resort to lathi-charge and using tear gas.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel on January 27 inspected the Red Fort, where the protestors entered and hoisted the flag during farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day. He said that a report be made on the incident at the earliest and handed over to MHA, and FIR be registered with immediate effect. He said, "I inspected Red Fort with officers of Culture Ministry and Archaeological Survey of India today. I gave 2 directions- report be made at the earliest and handed over to MHA and FIR be registered immediately. Things will be further clarified after report comes." A team of Delhi Police has also conducted a probe at Red Fort after storming incident. On Republic Day countless numbers of protestors breached the security and entered into Red Fort and hoisted flags. The Tractor Rally was organised by the farmers to protest against Center's newly enacted farm laws.
So far, many policemen have reported injured and several public and private properties have been damaged in this act of vandalism during the tractor parade by farmers, according to reports.

DCP Pramod Singh Kushwaha with ACP Hriday Bhushan, ASI Bhupender Kumar and SI Sandesh K have been conferred the Gallantry award for nabbing a suspected ISIS terrorist Yusuf Khan in September 2020. A team led by DCP Pramod Singh Kushwaha and Inspector Vinod Kumar have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry for arresting three ISIS terrorists in Delhi in January 2020. A team led by DCP G Ram Gopal Naik including ACP Rajesh Kumar, Inspector Vinay Tyagi and Constable Kuldeep Singh conferred the PMG for rescuing a 5-year old child of a businessman after an 11-day long operation in 2018. Special CP Neeraj Thakur, ACP Ritambra Prakash and SI Suresh Kumar have been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
In an exclusive conversation with India TV, farmers' union leader Satnam Singh Pannu said that the tractor parade was peaceful until the intervention of Delhi Police. He added that he was not responsible for the seige at Red Fort.
