    38 Delhi cops conferred police medal at R-Day event

    38 Delhi Police personnel have been awarded the police medal for their services. 17 of these officials have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG), 3 President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and 18 Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Republic Day.DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav and his special cell team, comprising Inspectors Prabhat Kumar Pankaj, Pankaj Kumar; Sub-Inspectors Krishan Kumar, Neeraj Kumar Sharma; Head Constable Girdhar Singh Gurjer; and Constable Gurdeep Singh, were awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry for bringing under control criminal "Kranti Gang" in the Delhi NCR in 2018. Four criminals, including Bharti, were killed in this operation. DCP Pramod Singh Kushwaha with ACP Hriday Bhushan, ASI Bhupender Kumar and SI Sandesh K have been conferred the Gallantry award for nabbing a suspected ISIS terrorist Yusuf Khan in September 2020. A team led by DCP Pramod Singh Kushwaha and Inspector Vinod Kumar have been awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry for arresting three ISIS terrorists in Delhi in January 2020. A team led by DCP G Ram Gopal Naik including ACP Rajesh Kumar, Inspector Vinay Tyagi and Constable Kuldeep Singh conferred the PMG for rescuing a 5-year old child of a businessman after an 11-day long operation in 2018. Special CP Neeraj Thakur, ACP Ritambra Prakash and SI Suresh Kumar have been awarded the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

    The Delhi Police has allowed agitating farmers to carry out a tractor parade on January 26 when India celebrates its Republic Day. The tractor parade will start after the official Republic Day parade concludes at Rajpath and cover a distance of more than 100 kilometers before culminating around 6 pm. The Delhi Police has agreed to remove the barricades at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur to let farmers enter the national capital. Farmer leaders said the tractor parade will remain peaceful and will not affect the official Republic Day parade in any way.
