India's Omicron cases count rose to 200 on Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry informed. According to central and state officials, Omicron cases have been detected in: Maharashtra (54), Delhi (54), Telangana (20), Karnataka (19), Rajasthan (18), Kerala (15), Gujarat (14), Uttar Pradesh (2) , Andhra Pradesh (1), Chandigarh (1), Tamil Nadu (1) and West Bengal (1).

India on Tuesday identified Delta plus variant of the coronavirus as a "Variant of Concern" with at least twenty-two cases being detected in the country. Out of these, 16 were reported from Maharashtra alone, while the remaining from Madhya Pradesh and Kerala.
