Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has ordered an inquiry into the incident of 23 COVID-19 patients going "missing" from the North Delhi Municipal Corporation-run Hindu Rao Hospital, official sources said on Sunday.
Hindu Rao, run by the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, is the largest civic hospital in the national capital. The hospital has 250 beds reserved for coronavirus patients and according to the Delhi Corona app, all beds are currently occupied.
The SP further said that the police are now verifying with the hospital management if the ward boys recruited on a contract basis have a criminal record or not.
The circular asked hospitals to admit all the suspected COVID-19 patients, whether coming in ambulances or in private vehicles.
The deputy commissioner of Gurugram, Yash Garg said that strict action will be taken against those who charge more than the fixed rates from the Covid patients.
