Cold wave conditions intensified in north India on Tuesday with fresh snowfall reported from hill areas. One of the favorite tourist spot of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla received fresh snowfall. Tourists rejoicing the cold temperature.
As winter chill grips the plains, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the night temperatures would continue to be below normal in north India over the next week and a slight relief can be expected only a week later.
Amritsar witnessed dense fog as cold wave conditions prevailed in the city on December 17.
Briefing about the cold weather condition, IMD's Kuldeep Srivastava informed that prevailing situation will last till 18th December.
Fog continued to shroud in Punjab's Ludhiana city on December 17. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Since the past few days, the cold wave is sweeping across the whole North India, Hilly areas have experienced moderate to heavy snowfall, whereas low lying areas are under an intense cold wave.
