As the spectre of Nandigram and Singur protests continues to haunt West Bengal, chief minister Mamata Banerjee this time is pushing hard to bring the state on the global investors’ map by starting off with a focus on road and infrastructure projects for which she met Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Thursday.
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what she called a courtesy meeting. after meeting with the Prime Minister, Banerjee said, "It was a courtesy meeting. I told the Prime Minister about need of more vaccines and medicines in the West Bengal. I also raised the pending issue of change of the name of the state on which the Prime Minister said he will see."
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier in the day, she had met Congress leaders Kamal Nath and Anand Sharma and is also likely to meet Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday. Mamata arrived in Delhi on Monday on her first visit to the national capital after assuming office for the third term.
