Flood like situation persists in Kavalam village of Alappuzha district. Rain also continues to lash Kozhikode and Malappuram.
Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds lashed Kerala's Kottayam district on July 29. Heavy showers are expected to continue in various districts of the state for next few days.
Although Kerala state government has decided to open toddy shops in the state from May 13, toddy shop owners and toddy tappers point out that it will take at least a month's time for supply of toddy to get back to normal.
