Swiggy set to start deliveries for home essentials, groceries and more, from stores in your city

Swiggy set to start deliveries for home essentials, groceries and more, from stores in your city

Swiggy the popular food delivery app has launched the new Swiggy store in India. With this users will be able to order Home Essentials like Groceries and other things needed from stores across the city. The company also said, "Swiggy Stores also acts as a directory of popular stores and lists bestsellers to get items seamlessly delivered by Swiggy".

Swiggy operates in more than 80 Indian cities and is valued at $3 billion after the company rose $1 billion in the last funding round that took place in December, led by South African internet giant Naspers Ltd.

Users can choose the store and list items needed for delivery and Swiggy would fulfil the order by facilitating the payments. The new Swiggy Stores will be launching in beta inside the Swiggy app and the company will be asking for feedback from consumers as well as merchants and delivery partners.

This new initiative will start from Gurgaon in a phased manner and will start delivering from over 3500 stores across the city. The company has partnered with over 200 stores in categories like Fruits and vegetables, Gourmet and Organic Stores, Kiranas and Supermarkets, Paan shops, pet care, Baby Care Stores, florists and more. Other partners include HealthKart, Zappfresh, Apollo Pharmacy, Needs Supermarket and more.
