Lisbon, Feb 18 : Brazilian striker Lima scored a penalty in stoppage time to give Benfica a 1-0 win at home over Academica to retain its share of the Portuguese league lead on Sunday.
Benfica is joint leader with FC Porto after the rivals have each gone 19 rounds without a loss. The two front-runners have a 14-point lead over third-place Pacos Ferreira.
Lima took the winner four minutes into injury time by beating goalkeeper Ricardo Novo with a spot kick for his 11th goal of the season, tying him for his team's top scorer with Oscar Cardozo.
Lima's penalty was the result of a foul by Academica defender Joao Dias on Nicolas Gaitan in the area.
Academica's Helder Cabral was sent off with a red card after his team had conceded Lima's goal.
