Javelin qualification Highlights: Neeraj Chopra vs Arshad Nadeem in final at World Athletics Championships

Neeraj Chopra will face Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem in the final of World Athletics Championships. Nadeem was on the verge of getting knocked out after two poor throws but he managed to somehow cross the qualification mark in his final attempt.

Neeraj Chopra Javelin qualification highlights: It will be Neeraj Chopra vs Arshad Nadeem in the final round of World Athletics Championships on September 18. Neeraj Chopra qualified in the first attempt itself with a throw of 84.85m but Nadeem was on the verge of getting knocked out with two poor throws. In his final throw, Nadeem went past the qualification mark to finally make it to the final round of the Championships.

    Sachin Yadav remains in contention!!

    Sachin Yadav has done well to throw 83.67m in his second attempt and has one more attempt to go past the qualification mark. Interestingly, only two athletes from Group A - Neeraj Chopra and Julian Weber - have qualified so far. Top 12 athletes will be considered for the final if not enough of them go past the qualification mark.

    There is a long way to go. 18 more athletes will be in action in the Group B and after that, top 12 athletes will be locked in for the final round.

    Neeraj Chopra will not take the next throw now!! The moment he went past the 84.85m, the Q mark came against his name and the focus now shifts to the other Indian athlete Sachin Yadav in Group A. 

    Interestingly, a total of 6 athletes have taken throws and only Neeraj has crossed the qualification mark.

    When will Arshad Nadeem be in action?

    Arshad Nadeem is part of Group B in the qualification round, and he will be the first to throw. However, the round will get underway at around 5:15 PM IST. Both Neeraj and Arshad are expected to qualify for the final round that is scheduled to be played on September 18 (Thursday). Who will win the battle?
