New Delhi: The glimpses of the magic of hockey wizard Dhyan Chand at the 1936 Berlin Olympics hockey final may not be far away from the the eyes of hockey lovers if Dhyan Chand's family succeeds in procuring the footages, shot by a Nazi film maker.


Led by Dhyan Chand, India bulldozed Hitler's Germany 8-1.

India was participating under the title 'British India' hockey team. This win at the controversial Berlin Olympics,  is still considered amongst India's greatest sporting moments.


 
Since it's a Herculean task to lay the hands on the rare footage, Dhyan Chand's family may use diplomatic channel  through  the government.
 
A 70 minutes film was shot by  Leni Rifenstahl, who was the famous Nazi-propaganda filmmaker.  This film is now with  the family of Leni Rifenstahl.

In the final, watched by Hitler, the 31-year-old Dhyan Chand scored a hat-trick.
