Hockey Junior World Cup: India lose to Pakistan in penalty shootout

New Delhi: India today lost to Pakistan 2-4  in a penalty shootout after the match was drawn 1-1 in regular time in the Junior World Cup hockey here.  Pakistan finished 9th and Indian finished 10th.Gurjinder

New Delhi: India today lost to Pakistan 2-4  in a penalty shootout after the match was drawn 1-1 in regular time in the Junior World Cup hockey here.  Pakistan finished 9th and Indian finished 10th.


Gurjinder Singh scored the goal for India.

Earlier, Argentina beat South Africa 4-1 to finish 11th.

Spain beat England 3-2 to secure the 13th position while the 14th spot went to the latter.

In the 15-16 position playoff, Egypt scored their first win of the tournament by defeating Canada 3-0 for the 15th spot while the North American team ended 16th and last.
