Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson was leading his team to a famous win over Delhi Capitals in match 56 of the Indian Premier League. Samson smashed a half-century in 28 balls and was eyeing a hundred in the Royals' run-chase of 222. But he was given out on a close call at the boundary ropes a little short of his ton.

Samson smashed Mukesh Kumar in the 16th towards long-on and Shai Hope was standing at the deep. He made a brilliant effort to take the catch but was finding it hard to control his balance near the boundary ropes. He was very close to the ropes and the third umpire was needed to make a decision.

After taking a look at the replays, the umpire gave Samson out. The RR skipper fell for 86 from 46 balls but was not happy with the decision and went on to have a word with the umpires. While he was not looking happy with his dismissal, DC co-owner and chairman Parth Jindal was seen shouting from the stands.

Samson's dismissal opened the floodgates for Delhi Capitals as he was the key for the visitors in the 222-run chase. He was having a strong 59-run partnership with Shubham Dubey and despite RR needing runs at over 12 an over, they were in the hunt because of Samson.

He was having a strong 59-run partnership with Shubham Dubey and despite RR needing runs at over 12 an over, they were in the hunt because of Samson. After he departed, the Royals lost wickets in a bundle. Shubham was removed by Khaleel Ahmed in the next over for a 12-ball 25 before Kuldeep Yadav rolled his arm over in the 18th over to get Donovan Ferreira and Ravichandran Ashwin.

With Rovman Powell standing and the Royals needing 37 from the final 2 overs, it became way too much for a new batter to hit more than 18 runs an over. Mukesh bowled the final over and removed Powell and the visitors fell short by 20 runs.
