WI vs PAK, Live Cricket Score, 2019 World Cup Match 2: Gayle scores 50.

WI vs PAK, Live Cricket Score, 2019 World Cup Match 2: Another one-sided game from World Cup 2019! West Indies registered a comprehensive victory over Pakistan in the second match of the tournament. The Pakistan batsmen might just have nightmares full of short-length deliveries tonight, as the side was bundled out for 105 in the first innings. Oshane Thomas shined with the ball as he took 4 wickets, and captain Jason Holder sent three batsmen back to the pavilion as well. Windies, staying true to its style, were explosive from ball one, and Chris Gayle scored a quick-fire fifty before departing on a mistimed shot. Nicholas Pooran hit a six to give a poetic finish to the game for Windies, as they bag two points and go on the top of the table. Oshane Thomas was awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant performance with the ball.

West Indies (108-3) beat Pakistan (105) by 7 wickets in Nottingham. Gayle 50Thomas 4/27, Holder 3/42, Russell 2/4

18.25 IST: Wahab Riaz to Nicholas Pooran, SIX! West Indies win by 7 wickets!

18.22 IST: Wahab Riaz to Nicholas Pooran, FOUR! Upper-edge, and goes wide over the first slip. Only four runs needed to win.

18.17 IST: Wahab Riaz to Nicholas Pooran, SIX! Slapped! Short again, this one does not rise as much as Wahab wanted. Pooran slaps it down to the long on fence.

18.16 IST: Wahab Riaz to Nicholas Poooran, FOUR! EDGY! Pooran won't care though. Short and on off, it keeps on rising. Pooran looks to defend but the ball flies off the top edge and over the slip fielder for a boundary.

18.15 IST: Wahab Riaz to Shimron Hetmyer, DROPPED! Hetmyer dropped Babar Azam in the first innings, and Pakistan returns the favour. It was a difficult catch to take, however. Imam-ul-Haq drops Hetmyer on 0.

18.11 IST: Mohammad Amir to Chris Gaye, OUT! Gayle goes just after getting to his fifty. Slower ball on off, Gayle clears his front leg and looks to go over long off. He ends up top edging it.

18.08 IST: Mohammad Amir to Chris Gayle, one run. Fifty for Gayle!

18.04 IST: Wahab Riaz to Chris Gayle, FOUR! And in three balls, Chris Gayle has successfully undone the maiden from Wahab Riaz.

18.04 IST: Wahab Riaz to Chris Gayle, FOUR! Up and over! 10 from the first two balls. Gayle makes room this time and Wahab bowls it short and on middle, Gayle manages to cut it over point for a boundary.

18.03 IST: Wahab Riaz to Chris Gayle, SIX! Slapped over mid-off!

17.59 IST: Mohammad Amir to Nicholas Pooran, FOUR! Short ball outside off and Pooran pulls it strongly towards midwicket boundary.

A maiden over from Wahab Riaz.

*Wahab Riaz replaces Hassan Ali.

17.50 IST: Mohammad Amir to Darren Bravo, OUT! Bravo goes for a duck! Back of a length ball on off, Bravo looks to defend but the ball raises onto him. It finds the outside edge off Bravo's bat and goes to second slip. Babar Azam there takes a good catch as it comes to him on a good height.

17.48 IST: Hassan Ali to Chris Gayle, FOUR! A powerful shot from the West Indian as he pulls it.

17.46 IST: Hassan Ali to Chris Gayle, FOUR! Not off the middle but Gayle won't mind.

17.40 IST: Mohammad Amir to Shai Hope, OUT! Finally some rub of the green going Pakistan's way. Amir bowls it on a length around off, Hope looks to go over covers. He gets a top edge on it and the ball goes high in the air.

17.39 IST: Mohammad Amir to Shai Hope, FOUR! In the air but no one has the chance to catch it. Length ball outside off, Hope hits it over the cover fielder for a boundary.

17.36 IST: Hassan Ali to Chris Gayle, SIX! Another one from Gayle, and it's straight this time. Fuller again and it is in Gayle's arc. He lofts it over the bowler's head and it clears the rope by just.

17.35 IST: Hassan Ali to Chris Gayle, SIX! After a few failed attempts, Gayle finally hits the first six of the innings.

17.23 IST: Mohammad Amir to Chris Gayle, The chase is off the mark. Full on off, Gayle flicks it towards mid-wicket and sets on his bike. Zaman has a shy at the bowler's end and he hit it but Gayle was comfortably in.

* And we're back for the chase! The Pakistan players are out along with the umpires, openers Chris Gayle and Shai Hope are out to bat. Mohammed Amir to bowl the first over. Let's get started!

As we wait for the second innings, a bit of 'You Laugh, You Lose'.

The question now is, how many overs will West Indies take to chase this down?

* Pakistan 105-all out in 21.4 overs against West Indies in Nottingham. Thomas 4/27, Holder 3/42

16.49 IST: Oshane Thomas to Wahab Riaz, OUT! Done and dusted. Thomas bowls a Yorker on middle, Riaz moves away and looks to hit it but the ball is just too good for any tailender and he misses. Thomas does not and the stumps are disturbed. PAKISTAN BOWLED OUT FOR 105.

16.48 IST: Oshane Thomas to Mohammad Amir, no-ball and a free-hit. Only if Wahab was on the strike here.

16.47 IST: Jason Holder to Wahab Riaz, SIX! And the Pakistani faces in the crowd are smiling again! 100 up for Pakistan.

16.46 IST: Jason Holder to Wahab Riaz, FOUR! Hits it in the no-man's land this time. Slightly full, and dispatched towards the boundary.

16.43 IST: Jason Holder to Wahab Riaz, SIX! Where did that come from?!? A brilliant shot from Wahab, and it seems like he has now decided to hit every delivery he gets. A tactic, which unfortunately, few of the batsmen in his team tried as well.

16.38 IST: Oshane Thomas to Mohammad Hafeez, OUT! If it's a short ball, it's a wicket. The last recognized batsman is also out of here and West Indies are just a wicket away from sealing this innings.

16.33 IST: Jason Holder to Hassan Ali, OUT! A back-of-the-length delivery outside off, and Hassan tries to hit it past the inner circle. Not a very bright decision when the team is facing a collapse inside the 100-run mark.

16.29 IST: Oshane Thomas to Hasan Alianother short ball! Pakistan's batsman will have short balls in their nightmares tonight.

16.27 IST: Oshane Thomas to Shadab Khan, OUT! This is getting embarrassing for Pakistan.

16.25 IST: Jason Holder to Imad Wasim, OUT! Two wickets in an over! For the umpteenth time the short ball has done the trick here in this game.

16.23 IST: Imad Wasim is the new man in.

16.20 IST: AND THAT IS OUT! Brilliant review from West Indies. Credit to the keeper for convincing his skipper to take the review. Sarfaraz Ahmed c Hope b Holder 8 (12)

16.19 IST: Jason Holder to Sarfaraz Ahmed, DRS! There's an appeal for a caught-behind. Fourth catch for Shai Hope if this is out!

16.14 IST: Oshane Thomas to Mohammad Hafeez, wide! Gigantic leap from Shai Hope to catch that one.

More appreciation for Shai Hope!

*Drinks break for the two Pakistani batsmen to cool down a bit. Come to think about it, West Indies' bowlers may also want to cool down, because they're simply breathing fire right now.

And what a way to bring it!

16.05 IST: Oshane Thomas to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR! Poor delivery, and Hafeez flicks it towards mid-wicket this time. A well-timed shot and the ball races towards the boundary.

16.04 IST: Oshane Thomas to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR! Outside off and that's a superb cut shot.

16.01 IST: Oshane Thomas to Babar Azam, OUT! Edged and that's a brilliant catch from Shai Hope. Thomas bowls it short and wide outside off, Azam looks to cut but gets an outside edge. It goes towards Hope where he dives with both hands and takes a stunner of a catch. A much-needed wicket for West Indies. Pakistan needed him to stay till the end but unfortunately he has thrown it away. Babar Azam c Hope b Thomas 22 (33)

15.54 IST: Oshane Thomas to Babar Azam, FOUR! And that is well within his hitting range! Short, and Azam pulls it front of square.

*Oshane Thomas replaces Andre Russell.

15.52 IST: Carlos Braithwaite to Babar Azam, FOUR! Down the leg, and it's a leg bye. It wouldn't matter for Babar Azam, though. Pakistan need runs.

15.51 IST: DROPPED! Shimron Hetmyer drops Babar Azam on Braithwaite's delivery. Will it come to bite the Windies?

15.49 IST: Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has come out to bat. Pakistan needs a partnership here.

15.45 IST: Andre Russell to Haris Sohail, OUT! And it's the bouncer again! Russell gets his second and the ploy to bowl short here has worked. Pakistan here are under the pump. Haris Sohail c Hope b Russell 8 (11)

*Carlos Brathwaite replaces Sheldon Cottrell.

15.36 IST: Andre Russell to Babar Azam, The West Indian fiery all-rounder is throwing bouncers like a machine here. Babar taking no risks here, as he ducks three consecutive bouncers.

15.33 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Haris Sohail, FOUR! It was all going well for Cottrell, but a loose final delivery was punished by the newly-arrived Haris Sohail. Too full, too wide.

15.27 IST: Andre Russell to Fakhar Zaman, OUT! A quick bouncer out of nowhere! Fakhar wanted to pull, but mistimes it badly. An outside edge which clicked on the helmet and hits straight at the stumps. A pity for the batsman, who was looking in good touch. Fakhar Zaman b Russell 22 (16)

*Andre Russell replaces Jason Holder.

And that's the first Sheldon Cottrell salute of the tournament!

15.21 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Babar Azam, FOUR! West Indies' bowlers losing line and length after early boost. A freebie for Babar Azam outside off and a brilliant cover drive. Pak 31-1 in 4.1 overs.

15.20 IST: Jason Holder to Babar Azam, three runs. That's 4, 3, and 3 in the final three balls of the over. A clever flick on the very first delivery he faces, something which can do a lot of good for his confidence.

15.18 IST: Jason Holder to Fakhar Zaman, FOUR! A short-pitched delivery, outside off, and Fakhar cuts it brilliantly! Pak 21-1 in 3.4 overs

15.15 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Imam-ul-Haq, OUT! Imam gloves this down the leg to the keeper! West Indies draws the first blood.

15.13 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Fakhar Zaman, FOUR! The left-hander looks in good touch with a few top quality shots to start the innings. This time, he dispatches the ball towards extra-cover.

15.10 IST: Jason Holder to Fakhar Zaman, SIX! What a hit! First one of the day and it is a huge one. Holder is guilty of bowling it full on the pads, Zaman takes full toll of it and smashes his flick over the square leg fence for a maximum.

15.08 IST: Jason Holder to Fakhar Zaman, First runs off the bat. Full from Holder first up and Zaman drives it through mid off. The ball does not have the legs to go to the fence and they run three.

* Jason Holder to bowl from the other end.

15.06 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Imam-ul-Haq, Another good ball to finish the over. For the first time it is full and it comes into the left-hander.

15.02 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Imam-ul-Haq, Corrects his line and bowls it closer to the off stump. Imam lets it carry to the keeper.

15.01 IST: Sheldon Cottrell to Imam-ul-Haq, WIDE! Not the ideal start but there is a hint of away swing so that will give Cottrell some confidence.

* The first new ball is in the hands of Sheldon Cottrell.

15.00 IST: Done and dusted with the national anthems. West Indies players are in a huddle before they take their positions in the field. Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq stride out to open the innings for Pakistan.

14.58 IST: Out walk both sets of players for their respective national anthems. First up it will be Pakistan's national anthem followed by West Indies. We are not far away from the start here.

14.50 IST: Pitch Report- Mel Jones says that the breeze is there from one side and informs the boundaries straight are big. Micheal Holding from the other end says pacers and spinners will not be excited looking at the surface. He then has a chat with Steve Birke. Birke says it is quite white and firm, there is a lot of moisture and grass. It is a very good batting track. Holding then goes to the surface and says there is a tinge of green but nothing much and he reckons the ball will come onto the bat nicely.

14.38 IST: Playing XI of both the teams are out-

Pakistan (Playing XI): Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfaraz Ahmed(w/c), Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir

WI vs PAK Match Preview: Pakistan and West Indies, two of the most unpredictable sides, will take on each other in their first World Cup game at the Trent Bridge on Friday. The sub-continental side has shown in the Champions Trophy in 2017 that it is able to beat top-quality sides, but Pakistan's form in the last few weeks has been far from inspiring. Sarfaraz Ahmed's side, who have lost their last 10 ODIs, didn't have the most ideal preparation for the showpiece event. They lost to Afghanistan in their first warm-up game and their second, against Bangladesh, was washed out without a ball bowled. (Full Match Preview)
