Team India captain Virat Kohli, who always remains in news for both his game and fashionable lifestyle, was spotted getting his beard insured in a video leaked by his teammate KL Rahul on Friday.
"Haha, I knew you were obsessed with your beard @imVkohli but this news of you getting your beard insured confirms my theory," Rahul captioned the video on Twitter.
The 29-year-old Delhi batsman had earlier refused to shave off his beard when his teammate Ravindra Jadeja’s challenged him for 'breaking the beard' trend.
“Sorry boys, but I am not ready to break the beard yet. Great job on makeovers though. Kudos,” Kohli had said.
Recently, Kohli became one of the world's highest-paid athletes, according to a Forbes' compilation topped by American boxing champion Floyd Mayweather. Kohli, the only sportsperson from India to be featured in the list, is ranked 83rd with earnings of USD 24 million.
Surprisingly, the 'World's Highest-Paid Athletes 2018' compilation is an all-male affair with no women being featured in the list.
