Former India opener Virender Sehwag is all set to play under ex-Pakistan captain and fast bowler Wasim Akram, who has been roped in to coach the Maratha Arabians franchise for the inaugural edition of the T10 Cricket League, which will get underway in the United Arab Emirates from December.
According to a report in the Sportstar, Akram has been roped in as the coach-cum-mentor of the team, which will be led by Sehwag and also has former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara as one of key the players.
"Akram's expertise will help the young bowlers and he will guide the team accordingly. With Sehwag around, we are hoping for a great season," team owner Parvez Khan told the Sportstar.
Akram, widely regarded as one of the best exponent of swing, has previously mentored the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise of the Indian Premier League.
Apart from Sehwag and Sangakkara, Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi will be a part of the T10 League.
The league will have 10-over-a-side match with 90 minutes of action, spread over four days. The players auction will be conducted in Dubai in November.
