Shah Rukh Khan-owned Trinbago Knight Riders win consecutive Caribbean Premier League titles

Trinbago Knight Riders became the first Caribbean Premier League team to win consecutive titles as they beat Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final of the 2018 edition by eight wickets on Sunday. Owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, the team went on to win its third CPL title and became the most dominant team in CPL history.

In the final, TKR skipper Dwyane Bravo won the toss and elected to bowl. Ali Khan struck for the champions in the very first ball of the match and picked up Cameron Delport on a duck. Filled with star players like Colin Munro, Brendon McCullum, Dwyane Bravo, Sunil Narine, TKR dominated the final and didn't loose the grip of the match at any moment.

Luke Ronchi was the top scorer for the GAW side as he scored 44 runs against a fierce TKR bowling line-up and guided his team to a respectable total of 147/9 in 20 Overs.

Khary Pierre took three wickets while captain Bravo took two wickets for TKR.

Chasing a modest 148 to win, openers Denesh Ramdin and Brendon McCullum gave the defending champions a great start with a fifty-run stand. McCullum blasted 24-ball 39 while Ramdin scored 24 off 30 balls.

However, it was Munro who continued his glorious run with bat and hit 68 runs to help TKR reach their target with more than 2 overs to spare.

Pierre was adjudged the Man of the Match for his excellent bowling figures of 3/29 while his teammate Munro won the Player of the Tournament for his consistent run with the bat throughout the CPL 2018. The left-handed player scored 567 runs and became the first player in the CPL history to break the 500-run barrier.

Owner Shah Rukh Khan couldn't control his feelings after his team's amazing performance and he posted a photo on Twitter and said, "Wow wow wow. Wish I was there 2 party with my boys!!!
