Institute of Professional Excellence and Management (IPEM) organised the Dr. B.S Goel Memorial Inter-School Cricket T-20 tournament which commenced from November 22 at the Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad. The tournament which is known as the NSPL 2017 has its two finalists ready. Billabong Public School from Noida will take on Aster Public School Ghaziabad in the NSPL 2017 finals. The finals mark an auspicious occasion as the State Minister Mr Atul Garg will grace the finals as Chief Guest of NSPL-2017. Former India cricketer - Mr Chetan Sharma & Mr Ajay Sharma will also be motivating the players by gracing the occasion as Guests of Honour.
The schools participating in the tournament varied from the New Delhi NCR regions which comprises of Noida and Ghaziabad. In semi-final 1, Billabong Public School from Noida crushed Harshan Das Public school of Ghaziabad to win by 198 runs. Billabong made 224 runs with nine wickets in hand in the first innings of the match. Harshan Das were all-out for 26 in 8.2 overs in the second innings which allowed Billabong to easily book a spot in the finals.Parth Jain of Billabong was declared the 'Man of the Match' with his ton.
In semi-final 2, it was Aster Public School from Noida that registered a victory over Ram Kishan Institute to enter the finals. Aster set a mammoth target of 233 with a loss of four wickets in the first innings where as Ram Kishan were all-out for 109, handing Aster a win by 124 runs. It was Pankaj Vikal of Aster Public School, who bagged the 'Man of the Match' for his brilliant innings of 104 runs in just 57 balls.
The finalists are ready as Billabong Public School Noida take on Aster Public School in the NSPL 2017 finals of the Dr. B.S Goel Memorial Inter-School Cricket tournament on November 27 at the Nehru Stadium in Ghaziabad.
