MS Dhoni nears to breaking another cricket world record

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is on the verge of breaking another world record and the feat might be accomplished in Australia's limited-overs tour of India, which will begin February 24 with the 1st T20I in Bengaluru.

Dhoni recently became the first Indian cricketer to play 300 T20 matches when he played the 3rd T20I against New Zealand, which India lost by a narrow margin and the series as well.

Now, Dhoni is en route becoming the only wicketkeeper to play the most number of matches in any format of the game. The former captain is just three matches away from the milestone, which can be completed in the India-Australia series.

Dhoni (594) is two matches behind South Africa's Mark Boucher who presently holds the record. The duo are followed by Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara with 499 and Australia's Adam Gilchrist.

The former captain recently became the joint-third in the list of cricketers with most number of One-Day matches under his belt for India. The list is being led by Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar (463), followed by Rahul Dravid (340). Dhoni is third on the list along with former captain Mohammad Azharuddin.

With the ODI squad yet to be announced, it is expected for MS Dhoni to get all the action he can before the upcoming 2019 World Cup in England.
