Looking to end title-drought, Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals start preparations ahead of IPL 2019

Earlier last year, in a surprise move, Delhi Daredevils who are yet to win a single IPL title changed their name to 'Delhi Capitals'.

Iyer will lead the Delhi side in IPL 2019.

Delhi Capitals (DC) players assembled for a 2-day conditioning camp at Inspire Institute of Sports, Vijaynagar. On the opening day, they visited the facility. They also underwent gym sessions and did some circuit training there. The following day they paid a visit to the Jindal's Steel Plant, India's largest steel plant.

The camp was attended by DC assistant coaches Mohammad Kaif and Praveen Amre, captain Shreyas Iyer, Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, Hanuma Vihari, Harshal Patel, Manjot Kalra, Jalaj Saxena, Bandaru Ayappa, Rahul Tewatia, Nathu Singh.

That is the name with the team will take the field in IPL 2019 although Shreyas Iyer will continue to remain the skipper of the team. The team made the announcement in a programme organised in Delhi on the evening of December 4.

Delhi Capitals had earlier traded three players to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Shikhar Dhawan. Abhishek Sharma, Vijay Shankar and Shahbaz Nadeem will now sport the Hyderabad logo.

The coaching staff includes the experienced duo of Kaif and Amre. Along with this young Indian sensations, Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant have been retained by the franchise for the next season.
